All Men and Women are Created Equal — Start the Fire

I want to thank the hundreds of people who have taken the time to email me with feedback about my first radio show on Blogtalkradio.  I wish to thank my co-hosts, Kim, Nicole, and Tony for joining me.  And a big, “thank you,” goes out to my dear friend, Elizabeth, for sharing her insights as well.

The show aired on Thursday night, in honor of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.  It was his actual birthday, whereas today is the day corporate America chooses to honor the man, so that we can have a three day weekend.

Those of you who know me personally, know that I talk to dead people and that I talk to them all the time.  Since the airing of the show, Dr. King has channeled to me over the weekend, as I did Tarot readings for several Black and Latino women, who all came to me with the same problem: Their men are cheating on them.

Dr. King was a man of great courage and conviction.  He was a man who chose his words carefully and spoke them with truth and love.  His words started a revolution in consciousness.  He made our country look itself straight in the eye and see that we weren’t living up to the words: “We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal.”  You can bet that Dr. King will be joyfully watching from above tomorrow as his life’s mission comes to fruition with the ushering in of our new President.

Why would Dr. King spend so much time channeling to me this weekend?  What was his message to these Black and Latino women, and to all women?  In a nutshell: Not only are all men created equal, but all women as well.

Although Dr. King was a highly moral man, he fell victim to the patriarchal thinking that’s so deeply and erroneously engrained in the consciousness of all humankind — that it’s all right for men to cheat on their women, and women are expected to look the other way.  He was unfaithful to his wife, and he is rolling in his grave with regret and remorse.  As intelligent and insightful as he was, he could not rise above the behavior he saw all around him: Black men cheating on their women, and Black women enabling this behavior by accepting it, for one reason or another.

Dr. King asked me to start a fire.  To ignite women with the knowledge that they must start their own civil rights movement.  That they must help each other rise above the patriarchal double standard and unite and say, “No more!”  We have reached the stage of human development in which women can support themselves and their children if need be, and this economic freedom is the catalyst that will start a revolution within our personal relationships.

Women can no longer practice denial of the truth when it’s thrown in their faces.  Hundreds and hundreds of women have come to me for Tarot readings asking for confirmation as to whether their husbands are cheating on them.  They didn’t need me to tell them this.  They had read countless emails, text messages, and in many cases even spoken to the woman their husbands were cheating with, providing them with all the confirmation of infidelity they needed.  So why would they need to speak to a psychic?  Because their husbands continued to lie to their face and and say, “No, I didn’t have an affair.”   And these women, as desperate as they may be to believe this lie, needed the courage to face the truth.

Why couldn’t these otherwise intelligent women see what was right in front of their faces?  One reason is that they have been raised in families in which women and men have been taught that, “It’s just the way it is.  Men cheat and women tolerate it.”

Tomorrow we are not only ushering in a new President, but we are ushering in a new age — The Age of Aquarius.  The time has come for every woman and man walking this earth plane to examine his/her every thought, and to discover that we are products of a collective unconscious that is overridden with false beliefs.  For instance, how is it that the same Latino man who thinks it’s all right to cheat on his wife time and time again, also thinks he has the right to act violently toward his wife, if he even thinks that she is looking at anothr man?   This double standard of behavior needs to come to an end.  Men must let go of the patriarchal thinking that they are the masters over their women.  In this new millennium, Holy Matrimony will be the union formed between two equals.  Yes, all men and all women are created equal, and women may need to boycott men — if necessary — to prove this point.

In this post, Sex and the City world, many women think they are leveling the playing field by playing the same games the old boys’ club have been playing for thousands of years. This is not the answer.  This is not progress, this is delusion.

Women must be the ones to show the way.  If need be, to be strong enough to walk away from a man you love, if he can not be faithful to you.  Otherwise you are perpetuating this kind of behavior and dooming your daughters and granddaughters to a life in which they will have to deal with this same kind of an angst and pain, until someone is strong enough to stop this culturally dysfunctional pattern of behavior.

Godspeed in your journey toward a higher love.  And remember, human consciousness changes one person at a time.  Rosa Parks, “the mother of the civil rights movement,” refused to move to the back of the bus.  Her arrest sparked a citywide boycott of the bus system by Blacks that lasted more than a year.  Rosa’s brave actions resulted in the the U.S. Supreme Court decision to outlaw segregation on city buses.  This same boycott forced an unknown clergyman, Martin Luther King, Jr., to rise to the occasion and answer his life’s mission — to see to it that the United States live up to its founding principles.

Did Rosa mean to start a revolution?  Probably not.  She was just a Black woman tired of being treated like a second-class citizen.  She had had enough and had the courage to “sit” by her convictions and to know that she and all Black people were being treated unfairly.

Start changing your thoughts and actions, and start changing the world.  And remember, “Do onto others, as you would wish them to do onto you.”
