I have to tell you that this touched me in so many ways today. I am so very far from being an “evolved” person but I have been trying in all areas of my life to show and send love to everyone I would normally be angry with. It is not such an easy thing but I am finding more and more that it can be done.
When I am cut off in traffic, my knee jerk reaction is to say or think what an A–! Lately, I have corrected myself and started to send out a blessing instead…Maybe that person is in turmoil…maybe that person was yelled at this morning…maybe that person is acting out of fear of being late and loosing a job.Whatever the reason they feel it necessary to drive so aggressively, I try to send out a blessing and a prayer that they receive a blessing from their angels that day to calm them. To heal them.
Today was the ultimate test for me. A woman at my job that is constantly speaking ill of others came into my office in tears because she does not know why she is not moving up in our company. Many times she has treated me badly and been cruel to others and me. There have been times when she has point blank told me that I am not worth what I make and she should have my position. She has been bold enough to scan the payroll sheets when no one was in the office.
I did not want to be phony but wanted to comfort her as I don’t think that she is aware of the things she does to others and how she affects her co-workers.
I simply listened to her and let her finish. I then got up and put my arms around her and told her that she had to let her anger go. I couldn’t believe what came out of my mouth as I never know how to deal with her except to run. I asked God to help me while she was crying to me and asked that I come from a place of love and not retaliation.
It works…Loving someone no matter what works. You do not have to agree with their behavior, but you can pass that loving spirit on. They can do whatever they want with it but you must pass it over.
