There really isn’t such a day (or is there???), but right now with the economy wrecking havoc on so many people, I think we could all use a good laugh. So I’m declaring September 27 as National Laugh A Lot Day. I got to thinking about laughter yesterday, after reading how children laugh an average of 146 times a day, whereas grownups laugh an average of 4 times. This video is definitely going to greatly increase the number of times you laugh today.
We need to remember, when going through our day, that laughter is a holy sound. Most of what we laugh at would make us cry and bring us to our knees, if we didn’t bring our sense of humor to the situation.
Please humor me today and try to see how it feels to: not take everything personally or to heart or too seriously. Most of what we stress ourselves out about isn’t worth the high blood pressure, heartburn, and agitation it inspires. Remember the overwhelming majority of what we worry about never happens anyway, so try to learn to let go and let God whenever you can, and laugh in the meantime.
I have been blessed to have interacted with close to a million children over the course of my career as an entertainer. They have made me laugh on days I thought I never could. So, please enjoy this video. Share it with your loved ones, and more importantly, we need to learn to share laughter with our enemies. A shared laugh is one of the most soulful experiences you can share with another human being.
And a good dose of laughter is as my Finnish Grandmother used to tell me, “Good for what ails ya!”
