The Top Ten Reason Why You Should Finally Commit to Each Other — David Letterman Did it and So Did Long-term Lovers, Vinnie and Tabitha!!!

Yesterday’s surprise announcement by David Letterman that he and his long-term girlfriend, Regina Lasko, have finally tied the knot, seemed to mark a turning point for commitment-phobics around the globe. Commitment-phobia is the number one fear that has emerged during this first decade of this new millennium, wrecking havoc on many relationships.  Has this very public commitment-phobic’s change of heart opened the way for the next decade to be a New Age of Commitment? Let us hope so. Holy Matrimony is a divine state in which two people love and commit to each other with their entire heart, soul, mind, and body.  I think we should all be afraid, very afraid, to commit to toxic love (Cellmate relationships), and Razor’s Edge Mate relationships ( The “old ball and chain,” sit-com type marriages.)  But, when Soul Mate love, which is happy, healthy, and healing enters your life, cherishing and committing to it, will come to be the simplest and most natural thing to do.

My friend and client, Brenda Peruzzo, sent me a link to my client, Tabitha’s recent wedding.  Tabitha and Vinnie have been together for seventeen years.  When I read Tabitha’s Tarot cards this fall, Vinnie was finally ready to commit, but now Tabitha had become afraid.  We discussed the New Age fear of commitment and the many masks this all-pervasive fear wears.  (Read Step 17 in my book, Grant Me a Higher Love to find out more about this massive fear.)  We also discussed how we always have to relive our parents’ marriage, and how it was time for her to forgive her parents and go on to make her marriage become a truly divine state of Holy Matrimony.  When Brenda told me that Tabitha had decided to go ahead with the marriage after my reading, I was so happy to be a part of this wonderful celebration of love.  To see this amazing couple and what Soul Mate love looks like, click onto this link: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/22/fashion/weddings/22VOWS.html
